In 2002, Performance Filmworks’ founder, Dean Bailey, designed and built the very first purpose-built, high-performance, gyro stabilized arm car. He started with a Mercedes-Benz ML55 AMG and later upgraded his whole fleet to the ML63 AMG, which quickly became a standard in the film industry.
Having built numerous stunt camera vehicles and over 15 purpose-built arm cars, Performance Filmworks has set the industry standard for comfort, safety, and performance. Our ML63 AMG arm car is the embodiment of all you could ask for: capable of speeds over 125 mph on-road or off-road. Our ML63 AMG EDGE system shows up ready to work in an enclosed transport with a hands free communication system for the ultimate interactive experience, a plush leather interior, four HD monitors, a Pix HD recording system for instant playback and expanded visibility out of the vehicle for the best filmmaking experience. We also focus on the sound levels inside and outside of the vehicle, with special attention paid to keeping our vehicle as quiet as possible to enable filming with animals and filming in sound sensitive environments.
